So you have decided to purchase your first sauna. Should you go big? Should you go small? The major deciding factor about choosing a size is determining the space you have available to dedicate to your sauna. Given the relatively small difference in price from a 2 person sauna to a larger 3, 4 or 5 person saunas and the fact that you have a full lifetime warranty where Celebration Saunas pays for parts and shipping for as long as you own the sauna we recommend buying the largest sauna to fit the space you have dedicated for your new home spa. If you have plans to grow your family or want to invite friends over to share the benefits of a far infrared sauna you will want to allow enough room for each person. A larger 5 or 6 person sauna might be the ideal purchase for you if you entertain or will want to share the sauna with friends.

Your infrared sauna is a large purchase both in size and price and considering it will last the rest of your life the wise investment may be the bigger sauna particularly if you have the room. Its also important to note that an increase in size won’t affect the amount of maintenance needed for the sauna. The cost to operate a larger sauna every day for 2 hours for 30 days will cost approximately $10 more each month than a 2 person sauna. Infrared Saunas are very energy efficient that won’t break the bank on your electricity bill each month.

I can tell you from first hand experience, there is nothing like getting your sauna together, sitting down in it for the first time, feeling the soothing warmth come over your body and just as you begin to relax you look to prop up your feet or stretch out and now you are wishing you had gone just a little bigger. This is a dreadful feeling after going back and forth between the smaller vs the larger sauna choice, waiting for your sauna to arrive, the work to put it together and then the odious thought creeps into your mind, “I wish it was bigger”.

You don’t want a sauna so big it’s an eyesore to walk into the room but you also don’t want a sauna too small that you won’t be comfortable using it. A lot goes into choosing a sauna. When figuring out which sauna to purchase the first step is to measure the space where you want to put your sauna. The second step is measuring turns and small spaces or low ceilings on the path you will need to follow to stage the sauna panels in your desired sauna room. In order to build your sauna you will need to be able to walk around it for assembly and you will need a minimum of six inches above the sauna in order to make the necessary power connections. Once your sauna is built it does not need any ventilation and can be easily pushed up against the wall.

All 3 person saunas and larger require a dedicated 120V/20 amp circuit. This means your sauna will need its own 20 amp breaker switch at the box and the 120V outlet. If you do not have this outlet you will need an electrician to put one in.

The pigtails or power cords extend 9 feet from the roof of the sauna to plug into a standard height outlet.

Our 6 Person sauna is the only sauna that will require Two dedicated 120v/20 amp circuits. Be sure that you can unplug your sauna. If you have the ability, I recommend putting the plug near the roof of the sauna for easy access.

Once you have determined your space and the electricity available it is time to choose your sauna. Most saunas are square or rectangle in shape but in recent years many corner saunas have become available which can be a space efficient design for people who have a large space but don’t want the sauna to take up the whole room.

Far Infrared saunas are one of the easiest ways to enjoy a personal sauna in the privacy of your home. Each sauna is a stand alone kit that goes together in approximately 1 to 3 hours, start to finish, depending on the size of the sauna, and can be set up anywhere in the home. 1. Great post. Infrared saunas are great not only for a resort or spa, but also for the home. Infrared sauna therapy offers several benefits, with detoxification being the most important one. Sweating is the natural way of releasing toxins from our body and sauna therapy promotes this. Sauna therapy also helps us relax, as it balances cholesterol, a major stress hormone. It can also help in weight loss and improved blood circulation.
